Congrats to Club I on a huge win tonight. Totally deserved in every way. Outworked, outplayed, basically did everything better than serbia in all aspects of the game. Serbia, did at any point during the game did you realize that if you won, you would be in the premier league next season??? You lot were horrible. No sense of urgency at all in the game. Lets not here about injuries or suspensions either, because nothing would have helped you out tonight. Enjoy next season in div 1. Maybe a name change would be in order.....how about the Serbia PAtriots. Highlight of the night came with Club I goal celebrations off the field. I believe CS was spotted doing the infamous Mourinho fist pump as well as the popular airplane down the Club I touchline. Looking forward to another 18 posts in a row from the early hours.

Tommy, I'm knackered from that run down the sidelines..........the goal at the half was ****ing BRILLIANT......I think I injured myself in the process and that may impact my performance today in the game. :D Not that the 232 drinks will come into play mind you. :(

Kevin Deleba..........I thought he did a good job overall, given the situation.

Well in Hoops! The Buck was a blur. Totally killed the competition in the last half dozen games. Here's to Premier!

Congrats to Club I! I played with the majority of the guys on that team back in youth and at UBC and it's great to see them up where they belong!

Cheers,
Mike

Well done Burnsie et al. Sound thumping by all accounts. It'll be nice to see the hoops back in premier as opposed to wounded 2 headed chickens!! :D:bronco:

Unlike Wimp Dart who had to go home to get the piss taken out of him.......The Power fought through adversity to go and win $150.....while Wimp Dart bailed. Apparently he was afraid he was going to be in trouble.

Congratulations to the Club Ireland team, Alan Feris and the Richmond Casino. Good luck in Premier next season!

Not to take anything at all away from the fantastic run that Club I went on, but that's a diabolical way to end an undefeated season for Serbia. I said at the outset of the season that there's no way it should come down to a one game playoff between the winners from both sides. A home and away (and there was plenty of time for this) would have been a fair way to decide which team goes up in this wacky promotion/relegation year. Actually, the best way would have been to have all 20 VMSL Div 1 teams in one division, play everybody once, and the top team goes up. They voted on this at the start of the season (ironically Club I was a YAY) but it didn't happen. It's all Ruben's fault I'd have to say.

Let's hope if there's only one team getting promoted again next season that the teams first of all remember to even place a vote, as that was one of the issues (I think only 50% responded)...and then that each team consider laying the goal of their entire season on the line in one game...a game against a team they have not played, quite possibly a game played on turf, perhaps even at a pitch they had not played on, and perhaps missing players through suspensions.

20 teams, 19 games, 1 team promoted next year to Premier. Make it happen, Ruben.

Cheers

Congratulations to Club Ireland. They deserved the promotion..

As for DIV 1, I believe in the upcoming season two teams from DIV 1 will go up.

Div 1 should follow Premier example, cut down number of teams (12?, 14?), and make the division more competitive.

I agree, Ferris. It should have been a two game 'final'. Every team plays each other team twice in the regular league so why should this be any different? The league's 'argument' against the two games was........"In the Champions League, they have a one off final."

I also agree that there should have been one division.........it's all moot now though.

After two HARD nights of celebrating and the odd bit of sleep I still can't believe what we managed to accomplish on Friday night. The feeling is quite remarkable and something I will not soon forget. The night started off with a beautiful rendition of ' You'll Never Walk Alone ' from The Capt. and One Dart in the parking lot, striking fear into the opposition as they warmed up. Come kickoff everyone in the HOOPS is jacked up. Having played at Byrne Creek in the past and coming away defeated we weren't prepared to continue the trend, nor squander the chance to get back into the top flight. Something I have been aiming for over the past 6 years. I won't go into a game report, as it's all a blur but I knew we got the job done once I got my head on the ball for our 3rd. Many people within our club fully deserve what we have accomplished. I'd like to thank Mr. Roberts, Burnro, Sidewinder, Coastal and last but not least Captain Shamrock for all their hard work and providing all of us with a brilliant club atmosphere on and off the pitch. Cheers lads!

Looking ahead to next year already, we'll need more depth in order to aid in the battle that will be staying up in the Prem. Don't want to be the next Special Olympics :)
