I liked the look of the lad who had the bright blue electrician's tape up and down his socks giving him a hooped look........WTF?

Number 13 for Inter was the best player on the park yesterday from a skill stand point.......but overall Richmond defended in the backline well. The midfield, particularly out wide on one of the sides was there to be exploited but Inter never did which was surprising because it was very noticeable.

Like CS said, Peg 3-1 over Hurricanes. We were on the backfoot for the first 20 then found our legs. Our outside mids gave them fits on the flanks and they both got on to the ends of crosses to make it 2-0 at half. They got one back on a questionable PK call about 65 mins in but we sealed it with a 3rd in the 80th. Big 3 points to set up a huge game for us next weekend.

Serbia 1 - Westside 2

Very very unlucky not to have atleast a point today as we just couldnt finish in the second half. They got up 1-0 on a very nice volley from about 35 yards out which went over our goalie. Their second one came about 10 mins later on a deflected shot that went opposite side to which the goalie dove. We got one off a own goal after a cross on a freekick. Second half we were thwarted by Geoff who played a great game in net for Westside today as he made three top notch saves in the last 25 mins and we also hit two crossbars. Guys played really hard and have to continue playing like this if we are to get results.

Would agree that you were unlucky not to snag one near the end, but it would have been an injustice. Your keeper made 2 point blank saves and we hit woodwork 3 times. I do recall your shot off the bar, but I do believe that was the only one.
The game should never have been in doubt but hats off to Serbia for sticking around. With all due respect, I think your team is in a world of hurt and really can't see you getting enough points to even make a run at staying up.

Delta 3
Sapp 1

JB, Gomesy_jr, and Jake with our goals. Parrotti with a goal off a defensive turnover in the 18 for Sapp's. Steve London made a couple big time saves and we missed a couple of breakaways. All in all, I thought it was a fair result and the better team won.

Walks did a great job in the middle today.

The better team won because you know how to win; score at opportune times, finish chances, come up with big plays, and hang in when need to. However the the control of the game was with Sapp and London had to make 3 huge saves in the 2nd to preserve Delta' lead. I thought the goaltending let Sapp down on the 2 crosses - the muddy 6-box was tough on the keepers to get their footing.
Other than the turnover off the bad pass right into Woody's feet instead of in front of him, he held the back for Delta superbly.

I think Sapp looked good moving the ball around with the new additions and Rob Sing had his way in the mid. But it's all about the result and results don't lie. Sapp needs to get better.

Referee Report

All you referees lurking on the thread, you could learn a lot from Walks on the day who let the teams play an EPL style game and controlled the game with only 2 deserving yellows. No BS cards, he let some guys blow off some steam and the player settled right after. Great game Walks.
One criticism: The assistants need to get a feel for the style of refereeing as well and not call the touch fouls when clearly Walks is allowing a more physical game.

SUFF- 2
Croatia- 1

All goals in the first half (Proctor with a great strike from 25yards out)
SU went down to 10-men at about the 60' mark, but held on for the win

As mentioned RFC 2 Inter 0

Solid team performance and great result for the lads on Friday night to build off of last weeks hard fought victory. 2 goals in the opening 30 minutes gave us a handle on the match until halftime. Second half we came out more focused on our defensive responsibility as a unit and relied on the counter. IMO we ended up just sitting back a little too much, but we didn't break and in turn were rather dangerous on the counter attack with multiple half chances to seal the deal. Inter had a few chances in the 2nd but couldn't seem to find the final touch to make things interesting. In the end, another clean sheet, this time for our new keeper Luke.

Miro and 1 of his linesman were top knotch, but there is one linesman who is just clueless, don't know his name but we seem to get him all the time! I agree with CS that BOTH squads moaned at the ref too much, especially the Inter backline in the 1st half. Constant complaints about our front man playing a hard, physical style leading the line, resulting in their right back, two footing our forward while lying on his ass for a yellow card. Never seen that before, great stuff. :)

On to Delta..

The guy who reffed surrey croatia for instance. The first yellow to Lucas might be forgiven as there was contact with the opponent, although to consider it unsporting is stretching things. On the second one there was no foul whatsoever. Likewise the yellow given to Craviero for a perfectly timed and clean tackle that was all ball. This was a fast paced game in somewhat slippery conditions and was for the most part clean. But the ref seemed to change his approach in the second half and it was as if he was suddenly back reffing u14 girls. Tempers flaired a bit in the last ten minutes as frustration with his calls grew and it was the ref's approach that precipitated the only really justifiable booking (Nail's) of the game. Talk of clamping down on bad behaviour loses all credence when cards are dished out the way this ref did it.

Who was the ref? I think these guys get caught up in the intesity of the players - the people who are in constant battles - and thus make rash decisions that the players don't respect. Walks doesn't do that. He is not emotionally engaged and that allows him to react objectively.

With Inter being home team and all, did they have to switch their jerseys?

Inter with the black and blue, RFC with the black and green. Who changed?;)

I will say this, Inter vs Milan, both sporting their traditional gear.
