ICST Peg 3 - Westside 2

Very dull match to watch. ICST Peg seemed uninterested and Westside played everyone behind the ball. Westide almost took the game but ICST bagged two in the last 12 minutes.

Westisde seems like they will be in tough for the balance of the year and ICST has to play at a higher level to continie to compete for middle of pack or higher.

Big Boot,

3 points is 3 points.......well done, Bhangra Bhoys. :)

Westside is going to struggle big time and they have no option but to do that.....so taking 3 points is great at this time for the lads.

Well done boys, good start to the season and like the captain said, 3 points is 3 points, you win by 1 goal or 10, wins a win.

Anyone have a game report on Peg vs Westside??

3-2 ICST Pegasus.

We had A LOT of the possession all game but it took 2 late goals by super sub Ryan Powell to get the come from behind victory in dramatic fashion (we were down 2-1 at the half). Westside dropped a lot of players behind the ball from the opening kickoff and the space was compacted even further by a extremely narrow pitch at Livingstone, making it very tricky for us to find a way through. Not sure who he was but their keeper also looks very strong, owning the box for 90 minutes.

To be honest, Westside does look a little limited going forward but you have to give them credit for sticking to their guns and trying to defend as a team with a clear game plan. We could have easily dropped all 3 points and walked away shaking our heads, feeling as though we were the better team on that particular day...a lot of good that would have been....other teams in the league could face the same scenario against Westside.

We definitely looked sharper and more energetic against Surrey United but I wouldn't call us "disinterested"...a more appropriate adjective might be "frustrated"....until the last 10 minutes :D

Anyway, the points are obviously very nice to have at the start of the season and we did show some character in coming back. On to Columbus...where we will need to be better.

Well Well Surrey is on some kind of march. Stock it to Croatia in a big time kick in the but.It is clear to all of us what happens when the club does not develop youth to come up. In order for a club to say in the big league BC soccer must let the club develop U16 side and U18 side.Tommy the mug man has to think of developmt of youth and same goes for Petar. Just staying in the league will not cut it in a year or two.
Same goes for Johny. Teach kids how to beat the club is not somthing club needs.
There is many kids that would come for development.
Just go and get the license. Us older members hate to see the club spinnig wheels. Hoping that sombody elss will help. You young guys must step up.

Sapperton 0 - 1 Metro Ford
(30')

I think Sapp took some big steps forward in this game. Although it was MF looking dangerous in the 1st and scored a beautiful goal on a 3-way passing play, Sapp matched their speed and showed more energy down the stretch.

TT missed a heading sitter 15' in off Sapp's set corner and Blakes couldn't control the ball on the 4 yard line with an open goal in the 80'. Kent Waechter was in net and had to come up huge on 2 MF breakaways late in the game with Sapp pushing for the equalizer.
I thought a tie would have been a fitting result but, none the less, a young Sapp side came away with a lot of confidence moving forward.

Simple Johny head enough of it. He coaches at the one of the local clubs as a developer of youth. He mostlikey would like to coach our National side one day.
He knows with out youth there is no future. Most of the clubs can have youth. It is only Croatia Serbia and few other that can not develop the youth. Due to three kids out of district rule you can not have enough kids to build the team or teams. In order for soccer to grow here clubs must be able to develop the youth. You can not teach them how to play soccer at tweny years of age. When they come up to the senior club at tewnty they do not care. They lack love for the club and inner drive to win.
It takes five years of hard work to bring the guys to be able to play premier soccer.

Dude stay the same. It is all about fun and self centre. BC Premier League is comming MLS is comming. Now we have to change for Canadian kids to have a chance to play at upper levels. Only Div 1 USA soccer players will be drafted. Now you worry about the spelling. It is clear. Pick id up or stay on the outside of the fance. Just look what Surrey Has done in a short time with Nail Thompson in charge of the seniors and Clarky of the youth. Mons and dads have to give it up to soccer players to develop the youth.
Good cheer and posative talk that's all they need to do. Suls is on the right track. Best of luck to him.

Hey Clarkey is a good guy but to give him credit for everything that the club has done at the youth level is wrong - he's been there for what, 4-6 months?

Rags that's not what I ment. I was saying that wee need upper level socce players to teach the youth. Clarkey is just an exsample.
There is no development with dads and moms, only protections. They mean well but can not teach the game.
All you have to do is take the silver one side or a gold side to Portland or one of thouse tournaments and you will see what I am talking about.
We are miles behind. Only stack teams with ringers have a chance.
