First off... CHEERS to the lads who created this site....nice to get some soccer chat going for us on the island.
Second... best of luck to all teams tomorrow (except Westside...sorry...I am a Gorge boy)... We'll be on the early ferry to come and watch the first game. Hopefully some fans show up on Mothers Day.
Third..... the pints will taste good tomorrow night for everyone I am sure. Nothing like a pint or two or thirty after a hard fought game.

second game had Westside winning a close and good game 2-1. Westside took a 2-0 lead from Chiasson and Dickinson had the second I think. With 5 mins in the first half Wicken went down and Best stepped in for the remainder of the game and was solid between the pipes and also was named MVP of the game. The goal Gorge scored came with about 5 mins plus stoppage time to go on a scramble in front and they had a great chance to tie it up right after that. Gorge I thought was the more dangerous team and way fitter as Westside managed to hang on. Who is #13 in the mid for Gorge, the guy is a machine, best player on the park today hands down.
Watched the Peg vs Inter game. I thought Peg was definetly the better side as they won all the 50\50 stuff and wanted a ton more. Great goal by the Inter lad...to bad bad it doesn't count for squat.
Congrats too Westside for winning...best of luck in the final. Too the Gorge lads...Keep your heads up...unlucky...not your best game. I could see why you boys were pee'd about the extra time as I had just over 45 mins on my timer when he blew the whistle( atleast 4 mins extra time should have been played)....the ref was not workin overtime...

old timer bowl next week. should be a beauty and quite frankly the two teams that belong there to showcase the vmsl.
as for today, i think we were full value for the result. plenty of chances that coulda, shoulda, woulda been finished would have put the game out of reach before gorge started to press. we were always going to fall back in a defensive shell to defend the lead.
there is no doubt gorge is a quality squad and gave us everything we could handle the last 30. thankfully the game ended when it did. i know renee took some heat for blowing the whistle when he did, but the amount of whinging by gorge everytime the ball rolled off the pitch doesn't add up to 5 minutes of extra time. more likely pissed renee off and docked a minute or two just to say shut it. can't blame him really.
man o' the match...besty. great job in the pipes kid. back on the pitch where he belongs next week when wicksy makes his return.

We didnt show up to play, and it showed with two goals against in the first 4 minutes of each half....all three off corners.....but the better team on the day won.
It was a beauty of a free kick though.
Thought things could have been different if Trevor gets shown a red card for the professional foul, when Adam blew by him for the break away.

Well.....we THE GORGE headed back on the ferry quite disheartened to say the least. Must say that I thought Westside definitely took it to us in the first half and deserved the 1-0 lead. We gave the right back ACRES of room to run at us..... not good to be on your heals like that.
At the end of the first half and into the second half we started to press....but that second goal killed us. It is hard enough to come back from one goal down at this level, but TWO......nearly impossible.
No whining for the time....Westside won and are onto the final. Cheers for a good match.

i think you're right though...caps by two.
rumour floating around that richer has received special exemption to play with both westside and the mustangs that day...

Well Reggy, any news out of the Peg camp on tonights line-up, If have heard rumours out of NewPort Village that Sarge may be ready to go, the free kick specialist is ready to bend one past Besty.
And Smallsy, what is up with the keeper position, is Wicks lower body injury (knee) ok to go today, is it the young kid in the pipes, or do you go with Player of the Week, Besty.

Unfortunately there is an 18-man roster limit rule happening in the BCs which means some guys who can play can't even dress
Also, everyone needs to buy a ticket to get in... each player got 1 ticket (and I think they had to be paid for as well)...
Perfect day for the big match though... let's hope it doesn't heat up

On the plus side, Regs, with the sub rule allowing 5 subs during play stoppage and unlimited at the half, all 18 players, theoretically speaking, could get into the game, unlike the Neanderthal rules governing the VMSL where it is 5 only meaning a max of 16 could play.
