We lost to them 1-0 in the Umbro Classic but beat them in penalties at Islands. They have a very nice striker ... can't remember her name ... but I think she'll be back next year.
They were quite physical at UVic and caught us off guard, but we still had the ball in their end for the first and much of the second. They scored the winner with 8 minutes left on a nifty backwards over-the-head kick that came out of nowhere and was just over our keeper's outstretched arm.
At Islands we outplayed them again. Their goal came after our keeper was taken completely off her feet. We tied it up with 20 minutes left in the game and scored all five of our kicks to win. We had chance after chance to close out regulation but could not punch it in.
Next year should be interesting as we are losing just four Gr 12s who contributed this year. Twenty girls are returning. Maybe see some of you in Chilliwack ...
