Round of 16: 5/8
Overall: 5/8

QUARTER-FINAL PREDICTIONS:

Metro Ford v Surrey Utd.
The Match of the Round potentially overshadowed as the rumblings grow louder of Surrey bolting to FVSL. Metro Ford once more knocked off West Van in their opener. Coquitlam are looking more and more the definition of champions as they have answered the bell at every time of asking this season. Their latest test comes via a Surrey team that was once the pinnacle of amateur soccer in the Province, winning back to back titles in 2012 and 2013. Whatever may or may not be going on off the field, on the field it is business as usual, with the team once again getting the business done in the Provincial Cup. The teams split the season series, with decisive road victories in both matches. It should be a classic, and possibly a swan song for Surrey Utd. and their VMSL era. Coquitlam has every reason to think this is their year, can't bet against them.

Aldergrove v Pacific
Hands up if you had this one in your bracket. Pacifc scraped past Inter in a match that was always likely to go either way, though anytime you dispose off the reigning Provincial runners-up its a decent performance. As for Aldergrove they dispatched FVSL giants Langley and, despite having beaten them twice already this season in league play, no doubt few saw this victory coming, much less how decisive it was. In a battle of the Cinderellas who can predict the winner? I'll take the hot hand and home field advantage to tilt this one.

Pegasus v Nanaimo
Peg seemed to have little problem casting aside one VISL opponent in Comox last weekend. Another lower island seed now must travel to Surrey and face down the VMSL's number two team. Nanaimo left Saanich still Hunting for Maude last weekend, but I can't see them pulling the same stunt on the mainland.

Cowichan v Croatia
Well Croatia produced something special vs Abby last weekend in a match that by all accounts was one for the ages. Cowichan, no doubt looking to quell any momentum the Europeans may have gleaned from that performance, have really taken this home field advantage thing to heart. They have moved from a 4pm to a 12pm kick off forcing the Croatians to either catch a 7:45am ferry, or spend a night in Duncan (not sure which would be worse...;)) For their part they best hope is doesn't through their own lads off; pre game routines are a ritual and sometimes these sorts of moves are a recipe for egg on the face. I don't doubt the pedigree of the VISL Champions, but lets hope the soccer gods feel the same way.

Well I hear for the right price they come back. Personally I think it's a good thing if the valley ends up with 2-3 more geographically based proper premier teams. There is a solid 15 teams in the VMSL that can play FVSL premier, maybe more. It would allow the people who live in the valley closer to the same level competition as the vmsl.

So now that we know it's confirmed, what exactly is the "right price"? Surely something more than discounts on Umbro match balls...

Don't know how Metro-Ford weren't about 6 or 8 goals up by the time Surrey got an 83rd minute penalty to equalise. Carlo Basso had so many chances but Mark Village was in incredible form with a series of stops. This is the stunning free kick that gave them the lead.

Just heard Croatia scored 3 in the last 10ish to win 3-0. Aldy couldn't score but we're the better side for the first 45 before the bottom dropped out late.
