Metro 1:1 Strathcona

We scored first, half hour in, and kept Metro out of the box. They tried with long range shots but weren't connecting.
They controlled the play most of the time, quick transition game, used wings very well, fit and with a lot of speed.
Had two chances all together, and tied it with 20 to go on a low shot from the top of the box.
We had a chance in the last minutes but a shot from 10 yards out went over the bar.
This Metro team will probably fight for promotion in div2 next year.

Cosmos beat Caspian 2-1???

Anyone watch the game?

I was watching my Cosmos buddies and can tell you that game ended 2:2 (still nice result for Bosna).
Caspian scored first on a nice header, Cosmos tied it on a pk that wasn't.
Cosmos went ahead early in 2nd on a nice volley and scored into their own net soon after that for 2:2.
Caspian didn't impress, although their #3 had a great game.
Start the celebration, Manchester!

Celtic 2-0 over Pacifica. Rock-solid effort by our back line today; first goal off a clinically-placed free kick in the 1st half, and second on a partial breakaway by Rinaldi. Credit to Pacifica's keeper; he was quite a bit busier than Junior was today. Great effort all round by the Bhoys; hope the work rate can be kept up.

I'm going to pull a page out of bosna's book.

We had about seven starters missing and eleven or twelve guys at the pitch. We had to put an outfield player in net, as our keeper was missing, so we're glad we didn't lose. It was always going to be a tough game and we're satisfied with the draw.

Trece is bang on. Great performance by our keeper to keep it respectable on a few chances and some solid work by the whole Celtic group kept us in check.
Our squad is lacking any pace up front and really not moving the ball well enough in the final third to create any chances. Never really threatened and Celtic was full value for the result today.
Your squad looks much better from our first meeting. Last time it was more scrimmage style play, but much more structured and measured control of the game Trece. Good work with the lads. We could use some of the same over on Pacifica...

Hey now when we don't have our starters we don't lose or tie !!! Until today...

Bosna 2- ante up 2

We had a few chances in the first 20 mins but they had a pretty solid keeper. Ante ups goals came about 30 minutes in off the corner
where our defender just fell asleep and he slotted the ball in te top corner. About 10 mins later try had a free kick about 25 yards out and he places it right on the penalty spot , one of their forwards jumped straight in and just skinned the ball past the keeper. Was a very nice goal I'd have to say.

2-0 at half we knew we could come back but we were being very lazy and giving them a lot of room in the mid field. We CE out strog second half pushing the balls down the wing. Quickly scored a goal and Ante up just started arguing with one another whic lead to the second goal about 15 minutes in. After that it was pretty much back and forth. There best chance ccame on the second half of a free kick which was destined to go into the top corner.

Ultimately I thought this was our hardest game we have played this season, they have some big guys which really threw their bodies around. Now we only play teams in the bottom half of the table, all te tougher games we are finished with.

Seems like most guys are taking an early Christmas break, it's not gonna be easy for sure.
Missing 4 guys that scored 20 out of our 31 goals.
Can we expect any scouts, looks like we are on a collision course.

10 Friends couldn't match speedy Strathcona strikers.
Game was decided in the first 15, as we scored twice and added another by the end of first half.
Their best(and only) chance came off a deflected shot that ended up hitting the crossbar.
Tons of chances for us, especially towards the end, 4 on 1, 5 on 3...
Met Baback "the scout" , hopefully didn't take many notes.

Bosna vs Bari- nothing to report here really, they had 5-6 guys so they just decided to not play.

Anyone know the score for chaos vs Caspian?

Pacifica 2 - Pylons 2
Same ol' story for us most of the game. Decent coverage and defending but next to nothing going forward and a couple of critical turnovers lead to over loaded rushes coming down on the back line. Pylons turned two of them into nicely finished goals within 30 min in the first half and with our lack of pressure to challenge made some changes to give guys playing time.

Play was fairly balanced after with a few key chances missed by Pylons. With roughly 10 min to go, we gave the full press note to a few players, but couldn't get anywhere. With two minutes to go we got the breakthrough on a decent ball played in and the keeper just not getting enough of his hands on it.

In the final minute of time added on a missed offside call allowed our winger to create a corner. The corner was cleared directly to out player who kept it in and struck on goal and created a rebound. Another attempt hit a defender but dropped right to our striker in the box who buried it. Last minute tie, rallied from 2 goals down in the final two minutes, really felt like a win for our boys today and was a nice way to go into the holidays.

PCOV Europa 3-1 Killarney FC Celtic

As stated to the prognosticators previously, your mileage may vary, especially when key players decide to do silly things like head to Vegas for their birthdays, or go back to Ireland to get married.

No starting keeper available, so Calamity filled in between the pipes and did respectably well. Started off well enough with Eddie finishing another clinical free kick from about 30; we held on to this for a while before they were able to get it back on a redirected hop that Calamity couldn't readjust to. 1-1 at the half as we squandered one that went off the post and rolled agonizingly across the open net before going out right before halftime.

Dodgy decisions by the bhoys to play hoof and hope instead of the controlled footy that got us a win against Pacifica last week led to some defensive brain farts, and gifted Europa 2 golden chances that they finished. We were close but not close enough to recover from the resulting deficit.

Things I don't understand:

• why do guys under 25 who come up to my sternum and tip the scales at 135 with their cleats full of concrete think they're hard men? The chirping is unbelievable. Life lesson, children: a true hard man won't tell you what he's going to do to you. He'll just do it and leave you crying for your mom.
• running up behind people, kicking their ankles and running away. Seriously?

called off after 70 minutes, guess that city officials in charge of the lights are still vacationing

Celtic 1 Met 3

Met full value for this one as they had to come back from being down one. Yes, the bhoys actually had a lead again. Fabio hit an absolute rocket on a real volley that Met's keeper is still looking for. Solid defending for most of the rest of the 1st half until Murt couldn't contain their striker on a partial break, and they leveled it. 1-1 at the half. A lot more stalwart defending in the 2nd half, but we weren't able to match their pace for the full 90. Great change in effort level from the bhoys who were getting blown out of games like this earlier in the season. The young guys are still improving and were able to put a bit of fear into a strong team like this even with 8 bodies missing. It only bodes well for the future.

Strathcona 4:1 Signmaster
We started playing once they got the 11th guy in, hour an hour into the game.
From that point on, chances kept on coming our way, we only managed to score 4.
Signmaster opened opened up in the last 15 and deservedly got one.
Off to Trece and Celtic to clinch 2nd.

Norvan this weekend if we actually get to play on their grass field. Not holding my breath.

I like a confident Strathcona; I like an over-confident one even better. We do not intend to make this easy for anyone.

Didn't mean to sound overconfident or even confident, just saying that we'd clinch 2nd with a win.
Trece, I think that Celtic has the quality for 5th, especially in the second half, and we won't take you lightly, that's for sure.
