WAB's 1st Round Predictions

I put a lot of weight on SirM's Excellent Power Rankings. The inspector does his homework and it greatly influenced my predictions. But ranking are thrown out the window when it comes to 2 heated rivalries SFC vs WestVan & PCOV vs Columbus. Both are tossup games.

That's what I was just thinking. Although last years results are obviously not the only dictator for rankings, they should at least play some part in the process.
I realize Sir M. that you don't have an opportunity to see the VISL teams play, but please show us a little respect.

Sorry I am relying on a very credible and well pedigreed VISL source, one of the best players in the league, who tells me...well, I wont say the exact description of said teams, but put it this way: his word is a big reason for the rankings. Plus, Sir M has had a chance to see Vantreights play this year. But, the nice thing about these Rankings is that teams have a chance to prove staff wrong.

But the criteria for these rankings is all about what has happened over the last few weeks. Not last year (otherwise Sapp may actually be not ranked)

Well if it is uvic player they have lost and tied the vantreights this year.Thay is okay that you rank them there because like last year people will under estimate them.Good luck to all the Island tems this year.For the rangers they only won 1-0 over them and lost to uvic.

The ranking are nice and thanks to Sir M for putting them on here. everyone knows that Cup play comes down to who shows up on any given day. That's what makes it great. even underdogs have a chance.

Been a year since i've come to the ttp site (internet doesn't travel well to the island) so i hope i'm responding to the right thread. Whoever called OT for us and Gorge was spot on. It was our usual close battle with Gorge as they are a quality team with a lot of big fellas down the middle of the park (similar to Surrey of last year). They went up 1-0 on a PK. At the beginning of the second half our somewhat mercurial striker got his second yellow putting us down a man. The fellas sucked it up and scored one of usual very ugly goals to tie it up. We hung in during OT as guys started dropping like flies during OT - 120 minutes of soccer is for 12 year olds not 40+ year olds. However our fitness regiment of practicing every two weeks paid off as we didn't lose anyone. PKs were a nail biter as our first shoot missed and theirs didn't. Their 4th shooter hit the post and our goaly saved the last shot.
