just back from the wedding. Kinda drunk.
Rangrs 1 Primos 1
fcuking smoke and mirrors and we muscle a point missing 6 starters and our whole bench becasuse of the wedding. i left reception to run the sdieline and am ectsatic with the result. Got back to the wedding and we did the centriorion of beer shots in celebration.
what dj doesnt have michael jackosn in his shitthough. a wedding without mj is lbullshit. closest he had was fcuking rihanna.
Booo.
Pretty happy bout the point though. our oung guys and the guys not cool enof to b invited to the wedding but everything they had intot that resul. We were done with 15 left and held on for the point. Primos were a pretty clean bunch. Hope to play them when both teams have everything going for them.

Primo 1 - Rangers 1
Fairly even first half which we Primo felt was undone by a poor offside call after the ball had gone in the net.
Rangers played a good counter attack game and their goal came right off the training pitch as a cross from the outside was headed in top corner.
And as Army said, they hung on to the point for the last 15min, their keeper coming up big for them.
Good first game for both clubs. Great officiating I might add.

RCIU 4 - SU 3.
IMO, should have been more lop-sided, but a scrappy 3 points will do just fine. Playing on grass (vs. turf) for the first time in months/years was (pathetically) quite an adjustment for both teams. Many qualilty scoring chances for the HOOPED IDOIOTS but poor finishing made it closer than necesary. Some rusty gloves in the pipes by Animal also made for a closer score than should have been. However, Hooped Idiots need to improve in many areas to even start dreaming about promotion.

Westside Rino 2 - 0 Cliff Ave
Not the prettiest game to watch, but the boys ground out a hard fought victory. We scored within the first 5 mins with a 25 yarder from the left wing that eluded the keeper and found the top right corner. Cliff found their rhythm and controlled more of the play, but for all their possession didn't generate too many offensive chances and when they did their shooting quality was severely lacking. We played counterattack for pretty much the whole 2nd half and it worked as our striker broke free down the left and chipped the goalie from a bad angle with about 10-15 mins left.
Cliff are young, fast, and skilled, but need to improve in the final 3rd of the field if they are to have any success this year. Their #19 was outstanding. I think he's red-shirted for SFU? Definitely premier calibre.

Sapp pulled a rabbit out of the hat and almost levatated across the room.
Fast team - should have been up 3 goals in the 1st 15 min - breakaway, post, great save after great save by Kent in net for us. But we got some composure back and started to take over momentum in the last 15 minutes of the 1st half. 1-1
The 2nd started fine for us but injuries to our front runners, Jason Pierotti and TT, killed us. We lost all play going forward. Hurricanes scored a fantastic goal on a great shot from 25 out in the 65th min. We went down to 10 men with 15 to go - all was lost......
......but within a blink of an eye, like an angel rising, like water parting, and the sunshine shining Miro came to our rescue.
BOOM! 2nd yellow to a Hurricane for who knows what and Sapp was back in it. We took it at them for the last 10 min as they tried to protect the lead. Favs scores from 6 yards out off a loose ball with 2 minutes left, then Colin Phillips almost stole the 3 points hitting the post with less than a minute to go.
We should have lost, we could have won, but we were extremely happy with the tie.
The Hurricanes looked great and are without a doubt a very good squad early in the season. The only question is can they maintain this throughout the long winter?
