Just a comment from an impartial observer of the WV game. I wandered over after watching the premier game the field over, so caught 40mins. of the second half. The ref was a shocker. I'm not sure if he ever left the centre circle.
I was out at Ambleside last week and saw WV play Friday evening. I'm not sure how many players they were missing last night, but it wasn't just the back line. It seemed they were struggling to get the ball moving around with any real fluidity and failed to create any real scoring chances. Columbus were resolute at the back, but I'm not sure why WV consistently put there crosses/corners out between the penalty spot and the top of the 18 yard box. Columbus's goalie must be 5'6. Put the ball in the six yard box and let your tall forward go up and get it.
A final observation; whomever WV's left back is, he needs to calm down. He is a talented player, but you can see when he gets angry it detracts from his game.

FYI Andy Livingstone artificial turf is very susceptible to flooding after a day or two of rain...because rain in October in Vancouver is such an unusual event.

This field is routinely shut down whenever it is raining outside.

I have an idea, next time a VMSL Masters game gets rained out in Vancouver, the VMSL posts an Amber Alert with radio broadcasts, public transit real time notifications, and updated overhead flashing signs on arterial routes coming in from the suburbs.

FVSL does it. But then again most of our fields have same system that they have at Augusta National that keeps the greens dry. We get way more substandard games in.
