I have no idea what is going on above, can someone explain this to me? What are the players exempt from? Thanks!

Yup, akslop is right. Pretty obvious list, as Jarju is pretty much protected anyway with how he played. On the goalie side, Cannon is old and expensive, Nolly young and played like crap, so I'm thinking the brass figured they'd be safe as well.

Imho the only two the Caps are at risk of losing are Boxall or Thorrington...and the Limpact only have ten picks IIRC, thus the Caps roster will, sadly, not likley be picked over.

I believe the Impact are limited to taking only one player from each team.

Can we give them allocation money to take jarju? :)

Whitecaps trade Shea Salinas to SJ Eathquakes for allocation money.............bad trade IMO. He was awesome on the wings, actually did something with the ball.

He was great on the wings... issue was he couldn't knock a ball from out there on the wings.

Why sell a player like him who could do actually create, but keep a DP like Jarju, who has proven himself as useless. I tweeted the caps asking them this exact question, but highly doubt ill get any response, as no one can get an answer out of this club about anything.

Salinas $ 44k

1 G (GWG) 3 Assists

Jarju $ 400k.

0G 0A.

Good trade, why not trade hassli and camilio. for new game balls....morons.

The following guys had their options declined or are out of contract:

Cannon, Joe
Janicki, Greg
Leathers, Jonathan
Nolly, Jay
Thorrington, John
Vagenas, Peter

They are now eligible to be picked up in the MLS Re-Entry draft.

Notables (Canadians) in the re-entry draft that the Whitecaps could target:
Ante Jazic
Greg Sutton

Caps would take a training ball for Jarju just to dump his salary. Jarju was a disaster and they know it but you can't get rid of the lazy DP fukcer just like that.

I believe they can still resign any of these 6 guys at a discounted rate. Only exception is Leathers, who is out of contract. Does not mean they will, but they do not have to honour the contract they came in on.
