Storm are a good team...But they did not deserve the win.. Simply put they whined themselves out of the game. Good teams/players don't do that.

Why is no one willing to give any credit to the Highlanders? Made the Final this year and the Semi's last year. Hey we can't be all that bad :)

Lions VS Highlanders

This is going to be a battle. Two teams very well known to each other, going head to head for the Cup. Regular season meetings are usually very intense, so this should be a dandy. Two very different styles. The young Lions play an up tempo very direct style while the Highlanders are more controlled and at a slower pace( I'm sure most of that has to do with fitness). Very tough to call a winner but being biased as a Lion , I give us a 2-1 victory late in the second half or perhaps O.T. It would be a nightmare if it was decided on P.K.'s.

Our main advantage? Roger Lenzi. Enough said. Those who know him will understand. By the second half the Highlanders will be so tired of hearing " You can do it!" and "Make it yours!" that they will lose focus.

Best of luck on Sunday.

The storm should change their name next year to the Surrey Breeze. Catchy isn't it. Like wise Balsa I am surprised that there are so many shocked people at the Storms exit from the cup.

I'd love to play those guys twice a year. Nea bother. They are a typical undisciplined team. When things don't go well they yell at the ref, get carded, yell at each other get more cards and then go to the parking lot and beat up their cars before coming back to yell some more at the ref.

Bring on the Lions!

This is like a Rangers vs Celtic Champions League Final.

Dead brilliant!

It's what retirements are made of right Goldman!

Hey Shrek,

I don't think it is really surprise that the Highlanders won- you guys have a good record, so aren't to be taken lightly- but more shock that the Storm lost at that point in the season.

They were on one hell of a roll comming in to that game. They weren't just beating teams, but destroying them. I watched that game; you guys deserved the win that day. Good dicipline, good resolve.

Good luck to all!

The Breeze?

Shrek, the way you are talking you'd think you absolutley spanked the Storm. You did no such thing. You won 3-2. You were unlucky not to be up by more than one goal in the first half, and in the second half you were lucky to hang on at all, even when we had ten men.

I had nothing but respect for the Highlander's until you started beaking off. Now I can't wait till we have a rematch. You guys playing summer ball? or does the summer schedule consist of a lot of lawn bowling?

Train,

Thanks for your respect. Disrespect me ( I'm the biggest jerk on the Highlanders) but don't disrespect the 15 other guys on the Highlanders. My comments reflect how I saw the game and to be honest I was surprised you guys self destructed like you did.......I was also getting fed up with some comments on this thread about the Storm being outta the cup.

We do play summer ball. Maybe see you on the pitch.

Shrek

PS I don't play but Lawn Bowling does intrigue me. :)

See you Sunday!!!

That Shrek guy is a jerk isn't he. Everyone is always trying to wack him at practice. Which happens alot as he moves like a sloth. Unlike myself who is thinking of trying out for a track team...

So what happened to your team after the two bad cards your mates took. You guys take any action on them or was them costing you guys the game enough. Or are you one of them?:(

In my opinion it was a pretty equal game and we happened to come out on top. My beef was everyone on here not giving any credit to the team that won. It is nice to see now that a few guys actully agree with me, one being yourself. Ahhhh I feel better now. :)

Finally some respect. :D

And Shrek can kiss my arse....... as I fly by you on the pitch ;)

Train wasn't one of the reds...he was the one who tied the game for the Storm early in the 2nd on a cracker of a shot from 25 yards or so.

Ahh the Big man up front. I won't blow his TTP cover. ;) It was a nicely potted goal. Though I liked the shot he took better when he dinged it off the Light Pole on the other field near the end.....That was some serious ditance. :D

I wasn't fond though of the one when he hit me in the nuts. My boys are still in pain. :( I think he may want to buy me a beer for that one. :D My doc even laughed at me about that.......

Still having the nightmares

I am still having nightmares about those couple that got away i.e. the shot that hit the light pole

But you guys were the better team on the day. And I am betting you guys will win the Prez cup this weekend. Those red cards hurt us but that wasn't our only problem on the day. And nothing'll come of the cards. They are both really good players, they just haven't figured it out yet.

I still really want that rematch. So what league are you (Highlander's) going to be playing in this summer?

I don't usually play in the summer but the team plays in the Sunday league in Surrey. I am sure the rematch will be fun, hopefully if it is in the summer maybe a little less intense. Summer is for drinking!!

Yah I know both Red Card clowns. :) The bigger man played youth with my Bro's. I think it isn't so much they haven't figured out that there good players but more like they both think they are better than they are. That is the yappy individual part of their game, in my opinion. Though I have been wrong ,only twice before ;) Both cards were due strictly to a TOTAL lack of discipline and respect for their temmates. You guys should nail them for a few pints. If you don't maybe I will hit them up. :D

I am fascinated by this commentary. Honestly the first thing that tweaked my interest was the homo eroticism that was imbedded within the post ( but I will leave that for my therapist) The second point on Balsa "flying on the pitch" was particularly intriguing because I've seen Balsa run and the verb "fly" does not come to mind. His glacier-like pace is not likely to intimidate many opponents. Now if you were measuring the speed with which he downloads porn, well that's a different story.

At this point it might be wise for me to note that he also has a great sense of humour and is MUCH bigger than myself.

Go Highlanders!
