True story...

Somebody not long ago showed me how to look up texed messages on my phone. There were over 50 from people since I'd got the thing. I never even knew they were there.

True story.

OK, I took the plunge and got an iphone 10 days ago.

Out-stand-ing.

It has also led to me getting a solution together here at work for Team 1040 and listening on your iphone. Check out the instructions I gave them here:

TEAM 1040 Sports Radio

Cheers,

Regs.

Good choice Regs. Had mine for a couple of months now... waiting in lines is so much more enjoyable now.

After you've loaded up your iPhone with music, photos and applications, check out the audio & video podcasts you can download for free through iTunes. Brilliant .......

I would be fibbing if I said I didn't look into how to develop APPs for the platform :D

But I don't have a Mac, so that's out the door for now.

Question really though is what APP could be useful that tied into TTP?

this may be a stupid question, but with the team 1040 app, are you then just constantly using your web browsing time? or is the app set-up to be used while in a hotspot or connected via wifi?

the IT department, at work, cut off our internet radio, and where i sit i don't get any radio reception, so if i were able to listen to 1040 through my iphone (would it work for an itouch as well?) that would solve my problems

Cheers

Default the fstream APP is set-up for wifi - you need to manually 'turn on' cell network connection:

Open fstream > More > Cellular network ON

So whats the final consensus here for phone. I'm most likely going to bit the bullet and lose my old Razor for either Iphone or Storm since the battery is basically toast and i can't seem to get the camera to work anymore.

Which is the way to go? I've heard the Storm has some new phone glitches.

Ih the words of Richard Pryor...NONE OF THE ABOVE!!!

:D:D:D

Seriously though, I have had the Curve for over a year now (Telus) and have been quite pleased with it. The actual physical keyboard is what has kept me from going to a touchscreen phone b/c it is much faster when typing a msg/email.

my $0.02.

Yoda,

Get the iPhone. You'll love it.

Problem being is I till have a Telus contract until November and they don't sell the Iphone so i'd have to wait or pay the $20/month penalty to get out of the contract to switch to Rogers.

Tempting though.Very tempting. :)

Yoda,

The iPhone will still be around when your contract is up. You can also use the impending expiry of your contract as leverage with Telus. Call customer service @ *611 and see what they are willing to do to retain your business. They might offer you a Storm at a great deal or a free Curve?? If not, screw 'em and get the iPhone in November!

P.S. There is talk of a touchscreen Bold too...stay tuned.

By then there will be a new toy out. Samsung is apparently coming out with a fancy touchscreen as well. It's released in some places but not yet here.
