CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINAL DRAW IN NYON ON FRIDAY - INTER TO FACE AC MILAN, MAN UNITED OR VALENCIA

MILAN - With their 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen , Inter become the third Italian club to qualify for the 2002/03 Champions League quarter-finals after Juventus and AC Milan. Roma exit the competition following a 1-1 draw at home to Ajax. Here's the list of the eight teams that go into the hat for Friday's quarter-final draw in Nyon, Switzerland:

First-placed teams
Barcelona (Spain), Valencia (Spain), Milan (Italy), Manchester United (England)

Second-placed teams
Inter (Italy), Ajax (Holland), Real Madrid (Spain), Juventus (Italy)

Teams cannot be drawn against clubs they have already faced in the two group phases of the competition, which means Inter will be drawn against AC Milan, Manchester United or Valencia.

The Champions League Draw has just been made…

Real Madrid v Manchester United
Internazionale v Valencia
Ajax v AC Milan
Juventus v Barcelona

The Semi-Final draw was also made…

Real/Manchester v Juventus/Barcelona
Ajax/Milan v Inter/Valencia

The Quarter Finals will be played on the 8/9 and 22/23 of April 2003.
The Semi Finals will be played on the 6/7 and 13/14 of May 2003.
The Final will be played on 28 May 2003.

Don't know quite what to say ...........

One one hand, it is definitely not the draw I was looking for. Real are by far the best team of the remaining 8 and was hoping to do them in the Final .

On the other, it should be an epic night at Old Trafford as Keano and Seba should be fully fit again with everyone well up for it.

It was a good thing winning the group though as we have Real at home in the 2nd leg.

Cracking draw for Celtic I see ...... should make it to Seville for the final no question .

2 out of three Italian teams in the semis:

Juve 2
Barca 1

This one went to extra time. Nedved scored for Juve first then Barca tied it up, Davids was sent off, Juve scored in the 114th min. Juve will play winner of Real/United.

Valencia 2
INTER 1

Vieri scored in the 5th, Aimar tied it up in the 7th then Valencia scored in the 52nd I believe, but away goal pushes the Nerroazzurri through to the semis. Inter will play winner of Milan/Ajax. Probable Milan derby in the semi would be awesome.
