Naw, I'll stick with my prediction. What happened to A.M. up front has he been out to play at all lately?

Dickens_ Cider, I thought I would change my stragety a bit as MT wasn't replying to all the hot female threesomes, porn e-mails that I've been sending him!

[
Conductor.... Not sure you are doing yourself any favours in trying to Lure big MT away from West van by sending him emails Of hairy Women..... I would try a new strategy

Sir M, that's good detective work assigning your Power rankings Chief of Staff to sniff out some dirt! ha,ha :D

One in the first half by me, two more in the second...Should have been 6-0. If they had less winners they'd compete better...Regardless of the reffing. Number 5??

Scottyshell: I noticed a few lads on your sidelines. Columbus might be in tough...

Should have had more in the first half than we had, then weathered the storm in the last 20 minutes or so to pull out the win.

I believe that clinches our side for the league championship game and I'm not entirely sure but I don't think more than 1 team on the other side can catch us point-wise.

Rankings staff were seen lurking in the bushes... shite game to make the trek no doubt :D

Regs,

Staff report that WAB was yelling at your coach for having his team play a 4-5-1 with the lead and 10 minutes to play, is that true

If it is, like, excuuuse me to the SU coach for smart coaching...

Unconfirmed reports from Hastings Bowl that Sal got the only goal with about 8 to go...

So Regs you are right, the stretch run shapes up as follows:

SU (Side B): 2 games left, 35 points, Max potential points 41.

MF (Side A): 1 game left, 30 points, Max potential points 33.

WSide (Side B) 1 game left, 28 points, Max potential points 31.

West Van (Side A) 3 games left, 25 points, Max potential points 34.

Sapp (Side A) 4 games left, 24 points, Max potential points 36.

Columbus (Side A) 3 games left, 23 points, Max potential points 32.

Inter (Side B) 3 games left, 23 points, Max potential points 32.

At least one of the above mentioned teams will, sadly, NOT qualify for the BCs.

So, according to staff research and analysis, although Surrey United has not quite yet clinched top point total in the league (Sapp being the only team that can catch them and that appears to be a long shot), SU has clinched top spot on Side B, a spot in the League Championship Final, and an automatic berth in the Provincials, so congrats to SU on those achievements! On the A side, however, it is wide open between 4 teams for top spot, with Sapp currently holding a slight advantage, and the battle for the automatic 2nd berth in the BCs is wide open, with both Inter and Westside in the hunt as well.

Well, you would think a team with all that talent would actually have the confidence to to at least try to play soccer, instead of hunkering down like the 11 little piggies in the brick-shite house.

WAB,

Are you trying to insinuate we don't try to play? It actually benefitted you guys anyways because it is a formation we are not used to.

Best to learn during the league rather than provincials.

I thought every coach of the year knew that.

:D

Snake Eyes if it wasn't for rolly poley it could have been 4 nil. I saw your goalie picking up a dozen at Timmy's after the game.

That lasted till halftime with one departure - Georgie lasted for 10 minutes - we should have won but are saving our goals for the League Cup.

Inter 1

Good game. Inter scored first which seemed to wake us up in a big way. We tied it up shortly thereafter and from then on, dominated major portions of the game. Well, that's what it felt like from our side of the ball, some Inter guys might disagree.

Winning goal was scored midway through the second half.

1 game to go and I think that clinches the overall point total for us. Funny thing is, we've won sweet fcuk all so far :D

WV missed a number of very good chances in the 1st half, and kind of let MF get into a rythym and into the game. MF scored on their 1st corner of the game at about the one hour mark. They seemed a much better side with the lead, and added another about 10 minutes later. Then WV ran out of gas and players, and perhaps character.

The last 20 or so were pretty painful to watch, as too many skilled players on the sidelines cost us and some of those on the pitch could not raise things for whatever reason. Based on what I saw, MF are definitely a force to be reckoned with, they play quite a similar style to our squad of last year, but with stomachs.

Staff are making unconfirmed reports that VFF beat Sapp?

Should have been 5-0 as Sapp did not have a shot on goal. Nice to see 14 guys out today even if we needed to pick-up ffom the Over 40's. I am sure Sir M will be predicting a VFF vicotry over Surrey next week along with our top 5 ranking.

Not a good result for us today..what's new? Regs is correct. They carried much of the play. However after we scored in the first half hour I thought we'd put added pressure on them. They are a good side, but not unbeatable. Their goal was a result of our guy putting it in. Very unlucky. We really should have made it 2-0 after a few missed opportunities before the half. Thier second goal was off a thirty yard run from one of their spares who was left completely unmarked. I don't think he'll get another one like that. Still a few more missed opportunities and a great save by their keeper in the end.

Nonetheless, a fair game by both sides. SU are definitely the class of the FVSL. Beers were fine as well at the clubhouse.

I hope WE get an opportunity to meet them in the provincials.

First half was pretty evenly played with West Van having a slight edge in quality opoortunities. Sherle with one great save for us. Some close offsides and missed targets victimized us in the first half.

Second half started much the same. Ron Cuthbert then hit the post about ten min. in on a semi break away. Eli scored off a scramble after a corner. West Van pressed a little and then we got another one off a cross and a semi scramble. The second goal seemed to take the wind they had left out of them. Maros stopped Jeff Roberts on a break away from center after that . West Van had a few chances in the second half but our backline played quite well today. Eli was an absolute monster today. Ref did a good job today letting the game play itself out.

Oh and thank you Firemen!

I think the way we look at our squad is that pretty much every player is interchangeable. Unless you are Taking The Piss, that player "left unmarked" is not considered a spare, nor are any of our players considered spares. We were missing many players today, but you will never hear us use that as an excuse, because it isn't. The reason we have had "consistent" success over all these years is because we aren't hurting if key players can't make the game. They are all key. 22 players signed and you can start any combination of 11 today, and you still would have had to deal with a "spare' scoring what I call one of the nicest headers I've seen in a long time. However, it would have been nice to have the League's leading scorer playing today.

It was a good clean game. Very enjoyable. Why is Brian Kerr always left drinking alone with your opponents? Take him to Commercial Drive with you next time. His voice is so annoying.:D

Columbus 2 Richmond 1......We missed a ton of chances, I thought there keeper played very well. Richmond battled until the end and almost tied it with seconds to go. Next week off to West Van ,which is always a battle.(MOTW)

As our record indicates, this is true ( thanks Regs  ).

Interesting tidbit:

In league play this year/season, only the 2 finalists from last year's provincial cup will have taken points from us.

We need a win this Sunday vs Firemen if nothing else but for our collective psyche. Should be a good one, though the 9am kickoff will be a struggle :D

Sapp 0 - Firemen 1

Taxman pretty much summed it up. Pretty brutal game to watch for both teams, though. Very, very, very slow pace. Sap without many of its key players; WAB, Brian Donald, Kirk Waechter, Tom Huntley, Paul Favs, Kent (many of which out for the rest of the season).

Gord Sanders had to play in net and played well but with 5 to go bobbled a shot that Andy pounced on; "pounced on" meaning "stumbled over". 1-0.

All I could think about watching that horrendous display of soccer was......well, it was very, very sad on both sides of the ball.

Why do goalies have to accentuate their short comings? You only see Alabamians with large asses wearing bright yellow or red stretchie pants. Girth should be covered up, people!!!!!!
