off topic, but saw Eagles hanging across the street in a suit last Friday, looking pretty regal. Could be that Milestones in Coquitlam may drop right off Eagle's (and everyone's) list for a few weeks, any ideas which ones are worth lining up for?
gone "South Hill", I like that (although they might take offense)... showing your age Mr. Base. You are right though, the Whitecaps are dreadful, as is their coach. Hopefully, the new leader will soon set them off in the right direction -- once again, I am betting two season tickets on it...
I will bite, Columbus and Croatia played two Sunday mornings ago high on the Norvan mountainside, unbelievable field conditions, and a frigid wind to boot, but no way was the ref going to stop either team from playing -- and it was a great game (well, maybe not so fun for the Croatians.)...
Re: VMSL Masters: Discussions/rumours/banter December 2009
I told Bob the 4-0-3 system would not work without a keeper, but kids today, they don't listen...
Re: [VMSL Masters Div 2] Results & Banter September/October/November 2009
Us Old Timers actually got to play, up on old Kilmer skating rink even. Croatia v Columbus tilt, there was no way the ref could say no... years of Willingdon experience to call on, so easy peasy -- seen lots worse. Cold...
I'd risk finding a horse head in my bed if the Columbus boys found out I was training somewhere else on Thursdays, and the Geizens would rat me out, for sure.
Hope it is a good game Friday, bring a few extra balls, as I am not sure there will be any subs available to go cliff diving into the...
I know that you guys are having number problems, but if you invited me over the fence, we could have played 3 v 3, or 3.5 v 3.5 if you really want to count Dickens and Jags -- maybe your missing players will be turning up at our Master's practice tonight?
I'll be out of town Friday, but...
A glorious week at the top, unfortunate scheduling of A and Masters on the same night so can't comment on the performance, but sounds like it took the return of the Captain to take us down. Would have enjoyed watching... hope that we stick around for awhile, it is fun at the top.
There are a number of Vikings in the WV camp, but last I heard they had 11 players and a Van rented. Pillaging across the water was a Viking tradition for years on the labour day weekend.
Okay, and I forgot to mention a phenomenal save by CJ... what the... how did you get that back over the bar? Everyone was speechless on the sidelines on that one...
Close game, quite different than last year, definitely less physical. Although, WV came our with Besty and Stevie Mac in the back with the Carphins sitting in front of them -- so not a game for wallflowers. Surrey with some injury problems in the middle, Barry going out early with a shoulder...
Fantastic day at the park, fantastic weather, fantastic crowd, fantastic PK duel... two well organized teams, thought that WV carried the first half with their attackers, Columbus the second -- never really noticed Rene, maybe he waffled on Drew clipping the guy going in late on, but not much...
Once again, Canada has shown no progress, they keep looking for someone to take them through WC qualifying, and when you are making that kind of money you have to show results. Not surprising that Dale has moved over for someone new... good question if we can afford anyone with better...
There are a bunch of us who stand in the SE corner by the beer tent (surprise), I am sure that we would welcome our own section separate from the Southsiders... maybe not too far away though, they provide a bit of atmosphere. Maybe $200 lighter, but on a sunny Sunday afternoon, it is a great...
Columbus definitely done in by numbers and injuries, needed a full squad at this time of the year... Hose could have used guys coming forward to help out later in the game -- maybe even a couple of 50+ for overtime... we could still chase down Spada! Throwing in fresh guys in the 100th+ minute...
Puma V 3.08 Astro Turf Trainers are the charm, I bought a pair in Vienna, but have not seen them over here... The small cleats are perfect for the turf, they don't get caught up or slip.
